The Expedition PRO blends the lightweight and stiffness of a road shoe with the durability of a mountain bike shoe. If you’re lining up for a gravel event or cross-country race, look no further. The perforated synthetic leather upper features bonded construction to reduce bulk for a breathable slipper-like fit. A pair of BOA® L6C dials give riders independent adjustment of the mid and forefoot zones and we incorporated Soft TX lace guides to eliminate pressure points across the top of the foot. Off-road riding can be dirty work, so we wrapped the toe and heel of the 1:1® EX PRO Carbon sole in a scuff-resistant TPU layer and incorporated a mud-shedding open tread design. Der Schuh passt(mir) wie angegossen.Die Schnürung drückt überhaupt nicht(hoffentlich halten die Führungen auch lange). Der Schuh bietet viel Zehenfreiheit, und sie rollen super ab(da kann man auch Mal sein Rad spazieren tragen😉). Die Größenangabe stimmt(muss nicht größer sein). Die Optik ist(für mich)🤩.

Ich war lange auf der Suche nach einem Schuh, der nicht drückt und die Füße quält. Die Zehenfreiheit ist wirklich beeindruckend und der Schuh super bequem.
This Shoe is awesome if you have a relatively wide forefoot. It fits perfectly to my feet. I did an ultra race with them and had no problems. Walking a bit is also absolutely ok even with the super stiff carbon soles. Highly recommend!

The shoes are great. Great stiffness, solid (synthetic) leather although not too hot, very nice Boa system, high quality finish, really nice looks. I think the competition are the higher priced top models. I had an issue with the bolt, and the assistant was five stars, nice and fast to replace my shoes.

I bought the Pearl Izumi Expedition Pro shoes after trying on a wide range of similarly priced all-road shoes. I have a slightly wide foot and found that the other makes I tried were universally slightly narrow, with the exception of one other well-known brand whose name is synonymous with an inland body of water, although these Pearl Izumis had slightly better grip in the heel.
The feature I particularly liked was the ability to accommodate a slightly wider forefoot fit due to the very well set up twin Boa adjusters. They also come with better-than-the-rest insoles in the event that you do not plan to get fitted insoles. Overall they fit well right out of the box and not only have a good range of adjustment in the forefoot but also cup the heel well.
They are nicely stiff with a carbon midsole and are light – my size 45 shoes tip the scales at around 320 grammes each, which is not bad for all-road shoes. All together they are well designed for road riding with the cleat position able to shift well back behind the ball of the foot and has enough grip underneath for off-road riding when it isn’t too muddy.
